Are Peloton Shoes True to Size

Since their initial launch, Peloton bikes have become incredibly popular. A lot of people use these bike subscriptions to help themselves get fitter and healthier, but unless you have a Peloton subscription, one thing you might not know about is the shoes.

As well as offering bikes, Peloton also offers shoes which can be used with their bikes. If you have ever done a spin class, you will know that the shoes that you wear are incredibly important. This might be why you are tempted to invest in a pair of Peloton shoes.

But before this, you likely want to know what size is the right size for you. This is incredibly critical as you can only get these shoes online. Before you order, one thing you are likely to wonder is ‘are Peloton shoes true to size?’. In this guide, we’ll be finding out just that.

What are Peloton Shoes?

First things first, let’s take a look at what Peloton shoes are. As their name suggests, Peloton shoes are shoes that have been produced by the Peloton company to be used in conjunction with the Peloton bike.

These shoes are bicycle shoes, and they are designed to make cycling your Peloton bike safer and easier. This will allow you to get better results when you are using the bike because you will be more comfortable and more at ease.

With Peloton shoes, you don’t have to worry about your feet becoming painful while you cycle, and that is why they are so popular.

Peloton shoes are designed to fit snugly to your feet, but still allow space for your feet to breathe. They come with cleats that allow you to lock your feet into place on the bike. This means that you will never have to worry about your feet slipping off the pedals while you are working out.

You do not need Peloton shoes to use a Peloton bike, but they are a great purchase if you are serious about working out. So, now that we know what they are, let’s take a look at the sizing of these shoes.

Are Peloton Shoes True to Size?

Well, this is always a tricky question to answer, and that is primarily because everybody’s feet are different. Some people have regular feet, others have wide feet, and others have flat feet. Depending on the type of feet that you have, this will influence how your shoes fit.

If you have standard feet, then it is generally accepted that Peloton shoes are true to size. If your feet are more on the narrow side, you will usually find that Peloton shoes are true to size too. But, if your feet are larger or wider than regular feet, then you will likely find that your usual shoe size will not fit if you order Peloton shoes in this size.

Peloton offers their shoes in size 5 to 8 for women, and size 10.5 to 13.5 for men. They also offer unisex shoes that are suitable for women with feet size 9 to 12, and men with feet size 7 to 10.

So, as you can see, the sizes that they offer are currently pretty limited. But, if you have standard feet in any of these sizes, you will usually find that Peloton shoes are true to size.

Do They Run Big or Small?

But standard size feet aren’t as standard as you might expect. In fact, lots of people have feet that are either narrow, wide, or longer than average. This is why you probably want to know if Peloton shoes run big or small.

If you have narrow feet, then you will typically find that most standard shoes are too big for your feet. They will fit loosely, and that will make them uncomfortable.

But, as Peloton shoes are designed to be snug, you will find that these shoes actually fit narrow feet comfortably. So, if you have either narrow or standard feet, Peloton shoes are fairly true to size.

But, if you have wider feet, then you will likely find that your standard size of shoes fit too snugly. These shoes are supposed to have a tight fit, but they shouldn’t be so tight that they become uncomfortable. However, this is usually what happens for those with wide feet.

So, if you have wide feet, it is likely that you will find that Peloton shoes run small. This is why most people choose to size up if they know they have feet that are wider than average.

How Are Peloton Shoes Supposed to Fit?

As we have said, Peloton shoes are supposed to have a snug fit, and it is easy to confuse this with shoes being too tight. But there is a fine line between shoes that are too tight and shoes that are a perfect fit, and you will be able to tell the difference as soon as you put them on your feet.

Shoes that are too tight will squeeze on your feet, digging into your skin and likely leaving marks when you take them off. You will also find that shoes that are too tight will make it uncomfortable to do anything when you are wearing them.

But, shoes that are snug will fit your feet like a glove. When you slip them onto your feet, they will fit tightly without being uncomfortable, allowing you to walk around and cycle, without any discomfort. These shoes are designed to support your feet, and they do this by having a tight fit.

However, if you feel any discomfort or experience any pain when wearing your Peloton shoes, this is likely because they are too small, not because of the snug design.

Do I Need to Buy Peloton Shoes?

If you are considering investing in a Peloton subscription, then it is likely that you are tempted to purchase the shoes too. After all, the advertising of these shoes suggests that you will get a much better experience out of your Peloton bike if you use the shoes too. But, do you need them?

In one word, the answer is no, you do not need to buy Peloton shoes. In fact, a lot of the people with active Peloton subscriptions do not use these shoes.

This is because Peloton bikes can actually be used with any shoes. All that Peloton shoes do is make the experience more comfortable, this is mainly because Peloton shoes come with the ability to clip onto the pedals of your bike.

But, Peloton bikes are also compatible with Look Delta cleats, which can simply be fitted to any regular trainers, and then clipped onto your bike. So, if you want to be able to secure your feet to the pedals of your Peloton, but don’t want to have to pay the high cost for Peloton shoes, this is a great option.

So, What Size Should I Buy?

As you can see, choosing which size Peloton shoes to buy isn’t the easiest task. This is because the correct size for you ultimately depends on what size and style of feet you have. Like we said earlier, if you have narrow or regular size feet, then buying Peloton shoes is easy. But, if you have wider feet, this becomes a lot more difficult.

That is because Peloton shoes are designed to have a snug fit. This means that they will naturally run a little smaller than regular shoes.

When you have wide feet, shoes that are true to size can often be difficult to wear because your feet are not a regular size. This becomes even more difficult if the shoes that you are thinking of buying run small.

Summary

So, if you have standard or narrow feet, we would recommend simply purchasing your usual size shoes from Peloton (assuming they stock this size).

But, if you have wider feet, then we would recommend purchasing a size up. However, it is worth noting that even if you do this, the shoes still might not fit your feet. Ultimately, it will all depend on how wide your feet are. But, most of the time, if you purchase shoes that are one size larger than your regular shoes, they should fit your feet comfortably.

In short, most of the time, Peloton shoes are fairly true to size. So, if you have standard or narrow feet, you should purchase your regular size.

But, if you have slightly wider feet, then you should purchase a size bigger than usual. Peloton shoes are designed to have a narrow fit, so purchasing a size larger will ensure that the shoes fit your feet comfortably when you exercise next.
